MILTON - Gene Maturani, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born in Milton on November 17, 1934 and was the son of the late Antonio and Vitalina (Di Natale) Maturani.
On July 2, 1955 Gene married his high school sweetheart Shirley A. Rearick, who survives, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage together last year.
Gene was a plant manager for Milton Regional Sewer Authority and retired after 22 years in 1998. He had many interest which included being a huge Alabama Football fan, reading about the Civil War and World War II, he also was a part of the very first little league world series game in 1947 in which he pitched a no hitter. Most of all Gene adored his grandchildren and was always there to watch them play sports.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by one son; Geno A. Maturani and his partner, Michael Lupo both of Middleburg, one daughter; Leslie Yocum and her partner Jay Buck, both of Milton, three grandchildren; Lance Yocum of Mifflinburg, Aubrey and her husband Bristol Marunde of Henderson, NV and Christopher Buck of Milton, three great grandchildren; Peyton Yocum, Kale Marunde and Kane Marunde and one sister; Rose Reedy of NJ.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph and John Maturani.
All services for Gene are being held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
