LEWISBURG - Franklin L. “Frank” Carr, 90, formerly of Hamilton Township, NJ and St James Community of Southport NC, died on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born on December 1, 1928 in Abington and was the son of the late Howard W. and Edna E. (Klausner) Carr.
He was married to the former Dorothy Goeghen and they celebrated 33 years until her death in 1993.
Frank was a graduate of Hamilton High School Class of 1947 he later attended the former Eckels School of Mortuary Science, Philadelphia and then went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1949 – 1951. He served in the Fort Monroe VA 50th Army Band
Frank worked for Colonial Cadillac in Trenton, NJ and then later taught auto body repair at Mercer County Community College, Hamilton Township, NJ. He was a member of the Mercer Masonic Lodge #80 for 50 years, Trenton Tall Cedars and Crescent Temple Shriners Band. Frank played in many bands in the Trenton area and in later years he had his own band, the Rythamaires.
Frank is survived by his companion of 25 years; Janet D. Sponsler of Lewisburg, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three step children.
In addition to his wife, Frank was preceded in death by one brother; Howard W. Carr.
A graveside service for Frank will be announced at a later date, in Greenwood Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.
Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
