Listen to Obituary

MILTON - Jane Elizabeth Sidler Woodcock, 71, passed away on June 6, 2026. She was born on July 31, 1954 and was the daughter of the late Charles H. Woodcock, III and Beatrice Katherine (Sidler) Woodcock. She is survived by her brother Chuck and his wife Corey of New Columbia PA, her nephew Chuck Woodcock of Seymour CT, paternal cousins Raymond and Nancy Woodcock and maternal cousins Susan Strassner, Sally Engleman, James Rein and the late Patricia Budd.

Jane graduated from Milton Area Senior High School in 1972. She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg and graduated from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove. Although growing up in Milton, she attended primary schools in New Jersey, England and Scotland while her family lived in those locations.

Jane worked at General Electric Company at locations in Stamford, CT and Atlanta, GA. Although her business assignments kept her busy traveling throughout the United States, she made the decision to return to Milton in order to provide care for her mother in 2001.

In her younger days she was a standout softball and basketball player in High School. She also was a member of the GE Capital Industrial League State Champions two years in succession (1987-88) in Connecticut.

While growing up, Jane spent countless hours on and in the river with her brother, their dog Socks, and a myriad of friends. She was forever rescuing animals, including but not limited to, ducks, geese, baby pheasants, cats and dogs. She provided love and care to her horses Dawn and Idaho, who acted more like dogs than normal horses. Wonderful stories abound about these animals, least of which was her propensity to name all of her dogs “Woot.”

She had a true “green thumb”, which she inherited from her Mother. Her property was dotted with all types of flora and fauna which was raised in gardens, planters and flower boxes. She would grow hundreds of tomatoes, green peppers, cukes, etc., which her family and friends shared. She would also grow her own catnip to use in old Beanie Babies, which she donated to many local animal shelters.

She played a huge role in the life of her nephew Chuck, doting on him and often getting into adventures that are still talked about by the family.

While at Nottingham Village, Jane became a pseudo hall monitor, keeping tabs on the comings and goings of everyone and generally just livening up the place! Her family would like to thank all the nurses, aides and other staff along with Evangelical Hospice who provided suburb care.

Jane had a very distinct and colorful personality and all who knew her would attest to her eclectic, colorful attire. She was most fond of t-shirts and shorts that were often color mismatches, and pairing them with any sock that had a saying on it.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Faith Chapel, 2155 White Deer Pike, New Columbia, PA 17856 followed by A Celebration of Life at 11:00. The Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton is honored to serve the Woodcock family.

Note: Formal attire is definitely not required! And no black either. Bright colors only, please.
