John E. Russell

MONTANDON - John E. Russell, 75, died Sunday, August 10, 2025 at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born on January 28, 1950 in Milton and was the son of the late Charles and Gladys Russell.

John served his country proudly in the United States Navy where he served from April 18, 1969 until December 10, 1970 when he was honorably discharged.

John married the former Susan A. Rathburn on July 11, 1978 and they celebrated 45 years of marriage together this year.

He was a graduate of Lewisburg High School, Class of 1968. After serving in the Navy, he went on to work 50 plus years for Con Agra as a truck driver and fork lift operator.

John was a member of the Montandon Legion and the Milton 40&8 Club and the Milton VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his friends shooting pool.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by one daughter; Jessica Gundrum of Montandon, 10 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law; Richard and Connie Russell and one sister; Jody (Russell) of Milton.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Kaitlyn and one brother; George Russell.

All services for John will be held privately at the convenience of the family and a Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
