Nancy A. (Dyer) Shearer, 83, of New Columbia, died Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at her home.
She was born in Lewisburg on July 23, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Miriam (Beaver) Dyer.
On June 30, 1962, Nancy married the late Isaac E. “Pete” Shearer and they celebrated 58 years of marriage together until his death on January 28, 2021.
She was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1960. After school she eventually went on to work for Chef Boyardee, Milton, where she retired after over 30 years of service. Nancy enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, watching Texas hold em on tv, crocheting and listening to classic country music.
Nancy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Bruce and Shawna Shearer of Dillsburg and Steven L. and Michelle Shearer of New Columbia, one daughter; Leslie Jean Roush of Mifflinburg, four grandchildren; Gretchen Shearer, Rachel Brent, Christopher and Liz Hamilton, Dalton Shearer and Larissa Shearer, two great grandchildren; Noah Snyder and Kat Kazlauskas, one brother and sister-in-law; Jack and Darlis Dyer of Danville, five sisters and brothers-in-law; Joan and Dennis Baker of New Columbia, Joyce and Rick Herb of Elizabethville, Jane and Fred Sprenkel of Milton, Cindy Cleary of Montandon and Linda and Jerry McKee of Milton along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and her beloved dog Susie Q.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by one grandson; Brandon Shearer, one granddaughter; Desirea DeHart, five brothers; Robert Jr., Donny, Tom, Tim and Ted Dyer and one sister; Tina Dyer.
The family would like to thank Compassus for the care they gave Nancy during this difficult time.

A viewing will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 with Pastor Alice Rauch officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
