Russell L. Guffey

MILTON - Russell L. Guffey, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Oak Glen, Lewisburg on December 16, 2025.

He was born on November 11, 1940 and was the son of the late Earl Jackson and Helen (Harpster) Guffey at the Guffey family homestead in Milton.

Russell was married to the late Frances (Ashenfelder) Guffey for 53 years until her death on February 14, 2020.

Russ was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving in Bremerhaven, Germany during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Milton Manufacturing for over 32 years prior to their closing. He retired from Cheetah Chassis in Berwick.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 71 and the VFW Post 1665 both of Milton. He was a trustee for the Milton Eagles for many years prior to their closing.

Russ is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Rochelle and Mike Bastian of Watsontown, son and daughter-in-law; Troy and Paulette Guffey of Danville, two grandsons and granddaughter-in-law; Ryan and Megan Bastian and Braden Bastian all of Milton.

In addition to his parents and wife, Russ was preceded in death by his infant brother; David Guffey, half-sister; Theda Heim and half-brother; Nelson Springer.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the American Legion, Post 71. Family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in the Spring in Harmony Cemetery, Milton with Military Honors.
