MILTON - Ursula Eve (Mattern) Kile, 96, died Thursday, July 23, 2026 at her home.

A native of Berlin, Germany, she was born on May 7, 1930 and was thrilled at the prospect of being a citizen of the country but gave up her allegiance to her homeland with some difficulty to become a US citizen.

Ursula graduated from high school and went on to earn her bachelor’s of nursing. She spent her entire career taking care of and helping others in need.

She was married to the late Charles R. Schlegel on November 12, 1953 and were married for 21 years until his death in 1975. She then married the late Glen Kile and they were married for eight years until his death in 1989.

Ursula loved to garden and spend time with her family.

She is survived by one son; Thomas J. Schlegel of Brooksville, FL, one daughter and son-in-law; Connie L. and Ray Balliet, Jr. of Milton and two granddaughters; Meranda and husband, Scott Steel of New Columbia and Lacey Balliet of West Milton.

Per Ursula’s wishes all services are being handled privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at a later date in Harmony Cemetery, Milton. The Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton is honored to care for the Kile family.
