TURBOTVILLE - Virginia (Jinny) L. Weidenhamer, 76, died Monday, July 15, 2024 at her home of a sudden illness.
She was born on July 24, 1947 in Lewisburg and was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. and M. Isabel (Ayres) Weidenhamer.
Virginia was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1965. She worked for American Home Foods, formerly Chef Boyardee, in Milton from 1969 – 1981 and then again from 1986 – 1996. She then went to work for C.S.I.U., Montandon and retired in 1998.
She was a member of Church of the Resurrection, Muncy and was very involved with her church. She enjoyed working behind the scenes of the Hawthorne Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corp shows. She was a huge supporter of the Marine Corps, and was the unofficial “mom" to several Marines without parents deployed to Iraq during the Battle of Fallujah. She enjoyed bowling in her younger years and spending time with her friends and family. Jinny was always known to have a full social calendar!
Jinny is survived by one brother and sister-in-law; James E. and Ann L. Weidenhamer of Hanover, one niece; Deanna Weidenhamer of Virginia, two nephews and their spouses; Michael and Amber Weidenhamer of Northumberland, Nathan Weidenhamer and Anna Stodolka of Minneapolis, MN, and four great nephews; Sgt. Von Straight and his wife, Kayce, of Camp Lejune, NC, Conrad (CJ) Weidenhamer of Northumberland, Isaac Weidenhamer and Leo Weidenhamer, both of Minneapolis, MN.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Jinny's name to the Church of the Resurrection building fund, or take a friend out for lunch as a treat, as she was so fond of doing.
