Lulu Reed

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­MILTON - Lulu Loretta (Elliot) Reed, passed away at age 84 on July 3, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Lu was the daughter of the late Donald and Rachel Elliot of West Virginia and Ohio. As a young woman, she joined the U.S. Air Force becoming a radar operator stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mount Clemens, Michigan. There she married fellow service member, Kenneth Reed. They would have four children – Donald (wife Paula Wray), Daniel (partner Jenny Chung), David, and Linda Palko (husband Gary).

Tragedy struck in 1969 when Ken passed away and again in 2006 when Linda also succumbed to cancer. Lu persevered with faith, spirit, and tenacity. She completed a bachelor’s degree in education at Bloomsburg University and enjoyed a career teaching government contracting that took her around the U.S. and to other nations.

Lu enjoyed books, music, restaurants, and most of all her family. She had an exceptional memory and was always positive and optimistic. Lu was the anchor and heart of her family which grew to include three grandchildren; Bob Palko (wife Jackie), Ben Palko, and Kimber Fisher (husband Garrett and children Keegan and Haley).

Please join the family to celebrate her life on August 21, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church-Watsontown, 401 Main Street, Watsontown, PA 17777. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. and the service will be held at 11:45 a.m.
