LEWISBURG - Richard “Joe” Walter, 67, died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
He was born on March 26, 1952 in Lewisburg and was the son of the late Blaine and Florence M. (Munson) Walter.
Joe was a graduate of Warrior Run High School Class of 1970. After high school he attended Williamson Trade School, Media and graduated in 1973. He went on to work for PA Electric in Clearfield as a foreman, then worked for Muncy Machine and ended up retiring from Con Agra in 2012.
Joe attended St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Milton and was a member of the Montour County Farm Bureau. He loved farming, running, hunting, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
Joe is survived by two brothers and one sister-in-law; John and Sharon Walter of Milton and Robert Walter of Turbotville, one sister; Barbie Bull of Abilene, TX, one aunt; Betty Hillsey and several nieces and nephews.
A public viewing will be held from 10:00 – 12:00, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton followed by the funeral at 12:00p.m. with the Reverend Marian K. Anderson, Chaplain of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
