Robert B. “Sonny” Fisher, Jr., of Forest Hill, died Monday, July 6, 2020 at Riverwoods, Lewisburg.
He was born on January 3, 1935 in West Milton and was the son of the late Robert B. and Mary E. "Betty" (Horrox) Fisher, Sr.
On July 3, 1954 Sonny married the late Virginia L. (Casselberry) and they celebrated 26 years of marriage together until her death on October 23,1980
He was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1951 and graduated at the age of 16. He went on to serve in the National Guard. He was a truck driver and worked 25 plus years for New Penn Motor Express, Milton and retired in 1990 at the age of 55.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, West Milton and the Milton Moose, VFD Post 1665, American Legion Post 71 and Wynding Brook Golf Course. Sonny enjoyed hunting and horse racing but most of all he loved golfing.
Sonny is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law; Kathleen M. and Gary Cromley of New Columbia, Debra L. and Richard Smith of New Columbia and Sunny S. Finan of Mifflinburg, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson, four brothers; Fred Fisher of Montandon, Zeke Fisher of Milton, Terry Fisher of Jerome, Idaho and Jimmy Fisher of Montandon and one sister; Shirley Franquet of West Milton.
In addition to his parents and wife, Sonny was preceded in death by one brother; Dick Fisher.
A private graveside service for Sonny will be held at 11:00a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Highland Cemetery, New Columbia. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
